Went and helped the USU extension build this high tunnel the other day. We'll be throwing at least one of these up at the farm this year. These are relatively very cheap to construct, and they can extend growing seasons tremendously and increase the temperatures 40-50+ degrees on a cold sunny day. Plus, you can put tunnels within tunnels to increase temps yet even further! In the summer time you can take the plastic off and even put shade on your crop. Check out USU's inexpensive High Tunnel plans- http://extension.usu.edu/productionhort/htm/tunnels/high-tunnel
This went up in under three hours, of course that's with several people helping and end walls and pvc frame pre-cut.
....But still, EASY!
Can't wait to get one of these up at the farm! Stay tuned. The farm looks a lot healthier and green right now than this here sand farm in Layton, Ut.
