| Beginning of Fat Man's Misery |
Right on the park boundary through the east entrance to Zion is one of the few canyons you do not need a permit for; Fat Man's Misery. No, it was not a skinny slot but did have a few interesting rappels. Our first visitors, John and Abby, sparked the adventure. The other unique aspect of this canyon is that it drains into the east fork of the Virgin River, the river that flows through Heartwater Farm!

There are natural warm seeps that create a grotto or oasis among the sandstone walls growing grapes, watercress and many wild flowers.
